If there is one thing people anticipate from President Trump's speeches, it is his tendency to deviate from his prepared remarks. On February 19, during the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace in Washington, D.C., Trump interacted with officials from various nations, notably praising Paraguay's president, Santiago Peña Palacios, for his youthful appearance.

During his speech, Trump made a surprising comment about his preferences, stating his lack of interest in young, handsome men and his preference for women. The speech took an unexpected turn as he humorously recalled an incident at the UN headquarters involving an escalator malfunction when he and Melania Trump were present.

While the White House had previously expressed displeasure over the escalator incident, Trump now joked about it during the Board of Peace meeting. He mentioned his generally positive relationship with the UN, except for the mishap he dubbed "escalator-gate." Trump also playfully recounted how he avoided falling on the malfunctioning escalator with Melania's help.

Trump lightheartedly mentioned Melania's documentary, despite critical reviews, noting its high audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Initially, his team hinted at deliberate interference with the escalator, but the United Nations clarified that it stopped due to a safety mechanism, likely triggered by a videographer's presence behind the couple, as reported by BBC News.
