Rapper Lil Poppa, whose real name is Janarious Mykel Wheeler, passed away at the age of 25 on Thursday, February 18. His death was initially reported on the day it occurred, but new details have since emerged.

Details of Lil Poppa's Death

According to Hapeville Chief of Police Bruce Hedley, Lil Poppa was involved in a car accident on Interstate 85, south of Hapeville. The police officer revealed that the musician died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head after a conversation with his manager.

Chief Hedley described the crash as a "single-car accident," with the vehicle remaining drivable. Following the incident, Lil Poppa spoke to his manager through the car window before his tragic passing.

Lil Poppa's Career

Lil Poppa was signed to rapper Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group (CMG) and had released several singles, including Love & War and Mind Over Matter. He had recently opened for Rod Wave on tour and released a new single titled Out of Town Bae just days before his death.
