Megyn Kelly was an interested spectator during the Team USA women's hockey gold medal victory over Canada. Social media reacted strongly to her question about the slang used to describe Megan Keller's game-winning goal in overtime.

Keller, 29, scored the highlight-reel goal that secured the win for Team USA. Kelly asked why terms like "filthy/nasty/dirty" were being used to praise the goal.

Despite some trolling, Kelly did receive genuine explanations for her query. Fox reporter Britt McHenry explained that in hockey slang, these terms signify high praise for an exceptional display of skill. Another person clarified that the slang was not exclusive to hockey but part of basic millennial slang.

Following the game, Keller, a native of Farmington, Michigan, discussed the historic moment that started with a pass from teammate Taylor Heise. Team USA captain Hilary Knight tied the game in the final minutes of the third period, leading to Keller's eventual game-winning goal in overtime.

Knight's goal set a new record for the most goals and points in an Olympic career for a U.S. player, with 15 goals and 33 points. The victory was a significant milestone for Knight in her final Olympics appearance.

Team USA players and fans praised Knight's accomplishment, with teammate Kendall Coyne Schofield calling it "poetic" and teammate Lee Stecklein highlighting Knight's ability to handle pressure and deliver in crucial moments.
