Two boys, aged 15 years apart, were fatally shot in South Carolina on February 17. A 34-year-old man, Cedric Akeen Creighton, faces charges of murder and weapons possession in connection with the incident.

Rock Hill police stated that an argument between Creighton and 19-year-old Jamareon Kimble escalated into gunfire, resulting in the tragic deaths. Jakolby Clifton, a 4-year-old caught in the crossfire, was also injured.

Creighton, who sustained gunshot wounds, is currently hospitalized for treatment. Authorities have not disclosed the nature of the dispute between Creighton and Kimble or how they knew each other.

A neighbor described the community as stunned by the shooting incident. Gloria Finch, who heard the gunshots, likened the scene to the "wild, wild west."

Legal Proceedings and Investigation

Once Creighton is cleared medically, he will be taken to the Rock Hill jail and subsequently appear in court. Solicitor Kevin Brackett confirmed ongoing communication between his team and the police to assist in the investigation.

If convicted, Creighton could face a minimum of 30 years to life imprisonment for each charge. The investigation into the incident remains active.

Prior Criminal Involvement

In a separate incident in 2021, Creighton was involved in a riot at the Lancaster County Detention Center, resulting in parts of the facility being damaged by fire.
