Barry Manilow Delays Shows Following 'Heartbreaking' Health News
Barry Manilow, 82, shared an update on his recovery from lung cancer surgery. He expressed disappointment after a recent visit with his surgeon, where he was advised against doing arena shows due to his lungs not being ready.
In December 2025, Manilow revealed his lung cancer diagnosis and subsequent surgery to remove a cancerous spot on his left lung. As a result, he postponed his Las Vegas residency and upcoming tour to focus on recuperation.
Despite his desire to return to performing, Manilow acknowledged that his body wasn't ready for the strenuous schedule. He announced the rescheduling of his arena concerts, aiming to potentially resume shows in late March and April.
Family and Fan Support
Manilow expressed gratitude for the support from his family and fans following his cancer diagnosis. He underwent a successful surgery and shared a positive update on his recovery in early February.
After experiencing bronchitis late last year, a subsequent MRI revealed the cancerous spot on his left lung. Fortunately, the cancer was detected early, and Manilow remains optimistic about his health, having no symptoms and undergoing further tests.
Manilow, known for his openness about his health struggles, also battled throat cancer in 2020. He emphasized the importance of taking time to heal and appreciates the well wishes from his supporters.
