Waffle House Customer Sues Nashville Location Over Bear Spray and Restraints - Seeking $300K
A Nashville man, Gregory Lynn Hall, has filed a lawsuit against Waffle House, alleging he was attacked with bear spray and a stun gun while trying to order food. The incident occurred on May 4, 2024, when Hall intervened in an argument between a cook and a server at the restaurant.
According to Hall, the situation escalated when security arrived, with a guard allegedly using bear spray and a taser on him. Hall claims he was then forced to the ground, resulting in physical injuries and mental trauma, for which he is seeking $300,000 in damages.
Waffle House has denied the allegations, stating that Hall was the instigator and behaved rudely and abusively towards employees. They argue that the guard used force as a last resort to remove Hall from the premises.
The security firm involved has distanced itself from the guard's actions, stating that he violated company policy. The court will determine if the guard's response was justified or constituted excessive and malicious force during the trial set for April 13, 2027.
