Surprising News: Snooki Discloses Stage 1 Cervical Cancer, Decision for Hysterectomy
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi disclosed on Feb. 20 that she has been diagnosed with Stage 1 cervical cancer following a cone biopsy. The 38-year-old "Jersey Shore" star shared the news in a TikTok video, expressing gratitude that the disease was caught early.
Polizzi acknowledged her history of abnormal Pap smears over the past few years, emphasizing the importance of not delaying gynecologist appointments. She urged women to address any red flags promptly after confronting her own health issues.
Doctors were able to remove the main tumor during Polizzi's cone biopsy, with clean surrounding tissue providing a positive outlook. Despite the favorable outcome, she is proceeding with a PET scan and opting for a hysterectomy as a precautionary measure.
Polizzi explained that she chose surgery over radiation or chemotherapy, prioritizing her health and well-being for the sake of her children. She remains realistic about her situation, recognizing that while 2026 hasn't unfolded as expected, the prognosis could have been worse.
Cervical cancer rates are reportedly increasing among women in their 30s and 40s, aligning with Polizzi's diagnosis. Despite the challenging news, she is determined to navigate her treatment journey and raise awareness about the prevalence of such health concerns among women.
