Rebecca Gayheart Speaks Out on GoFundMe Set Up Following Eric Dane's Passing

Rebecca Gayheart has acknowledged the GoFundMe campaign set up to support her children after the passing of their father, Eric Dane.

Gayheart, aged 54, posted old family photos with Dane and their daughters on Instagram Stories on February 21, urging fans to contribute to the fundraiser for the kids following Dane's death from ALS at 53.

On February 19, Us Weekly confirmed Eric Dane's death. A statement from his family revealed he succumbed to ALS after fighting bravely, surrounded by loved ones.

Dane's friend, Mike McGuiness, explained the reason behind the GoFundMe setup for Dane's family, expressing deep sorrow over the loss and appreciating the support from fans.

Eric Dane had announced his ALS diagnosis in April 2025, a year before his passing. ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease, leads to muscle weakness and paralysis with no known cure.

Despite his illness, Dane maintained a sense of humor and positivity, as revealed in his final interview before his death, where he shared insights into his battle with ALS.

Friends of Eric Dane initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist his family after his demise, aiming to raise $250,000 for his daughters, Billie and Georgia.

Mike McGuiness, a close friend of Dane, defended the GoFundMe campaign on social media, highlighting the financial struggles Dane faced due to his illness and the impact on his family.
