Over time, my mother-in-law made herself quite at home in our house, often making a beeline for our bedroom instead of using the prepared guest room. Despite initial attempts to accommodate her, I began to feel increasingly disrespected as she disregarded my feelings.

On a particular visit, I took a different approach. I made sure the guest room was welcoming and comfortable, with fresh linens and thoughtful details. When she chose our bedroom regardless, I quietly relocated to the guest room, prioritizing my own comfort.
