A major blueberry recall is underway across the country due to concerns about possible Listeria contamination.

Recall Details

  • The recall, identified as H-0522-2026, involves 55,689 pounds of frozen blueberries produced by Oregon Potato Company LLC, also known as Willamette Valley Fruit Company in Salem, Oregon.
  • The company initiated the recall voluntarily on February 12, 2026, and the FDA categorized it as a Class I recall on February 24, signifying the highest risk level.

The affected blueberries were distributed in 30-pound cases and 1,400-pound totes to states such as Michigan, Oregon, Washington, and Wisconsin, as well as Canada. These products were not directly sold to consumers in retail stores.

Product Information

  • Lot codes for the 30-pound cases include 2055 B2, 2065 B1, and 2065 B3, with expiration dates between July 23 and July 24, 2027.
  • The 1,400-pound totes bear lot codes 3305 A1 and 3305 B1, with expiration dates of Nov. 25, 2027.

Listeria monocytogenes, the bacteria in question, can lead to severe and potentially fatal infections, especially in vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Pregnant individuals are at a heightened risk, which may include miscarriage or stillbirth.
