Nicki Minaj's legal representation is in flux as her attorney, Matthew Abbott, has formally requested to withdraw from handling one of her civil cases.

Abbott's motion to step down as Minaj's counsel in a $10 million lawsuit filed by Tameer Peak cites a "communication breakdown" between the parties, as per new court filings.

Peak previously took legal action against Minaj, alleging false accusations of criminal conduct and stalking in September 2025, with a slander claim in August 2024 related to similar allegations.

Abbott mentioned in the filing that the management company he works with, recently hired by Minaj, has been unable to contact her for months, despite multiple attempts via text messages and emails.

Following the withdrawal of Minaj's former attorney, Judd Burstein, Abbott requested more time for Minaj to secure permanent representation, pending a decision by the judge on his motion to withdraw.

The court has set a deadline for Minaj to respond to Abbott's request as the $10 million lawsuit against her continues, leaving the issue of legal representation unresolved at present.
