Shocking: Man Faces Murder Charges for 'Curb Stomping' Mother
Police in Washington state reported that Antony Ton Le, a schizophrenic man off his medications, was arrested for criminal homicide on Tuesday, February 24. He allegedly killed his mother in Auburn, choking her and curb stomping her neck up to seven times.
Le, 30, stated that an argument about school and finances led to the attack on his mother, Thuy Nu Thu Ton. He admitted to investigators that he killed her and had been experiencing rage and anger towards her after stopping his bipolar and schizophrenia medications.
A son in Maryland discovered his stepfather stabbing his mother to death inside a closet. The woman, Amethyst Stephenson, had a protective order against Alexander Stephenson, her estranged husband. The son found her being attacked after hearing yelling from her bedroom.
According to the affidavit, Le grabbed his mother in a chokehold, threw her to the ground, and curb stomped her neck. He confessed to being angry and likely killing her on the third stomp, continuing to stomp her four or five more times. Le tried to help her after the assault, hearing her gurgle for about 30 minutes before she died.
Le is in custody at King County Jail on a $2 million bond. He was expected to appear in court on February 27. Plea and attorney information were not available at the time of reporting.
The condo owner, who found the victim lying on her back with severe facial injuries, informed police that Le had become increasingly hostile and prone to violence. First responders were unable to save the victim, who died at the scene before she could be transported to the hospital.
