The Atlanta Falcons have fired assistant defensive line coach LaTroy Lewis following rape accusations from his time coaching at the University of Michigan. This action was taken just two weeks after he was hired by the NFL team.

Podcast host Justin Spiro reported that a woman accused Lewis of raping and attacking her during his tenure as an assistant coach at the University of Michigan.

Former University of Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore allegedly got physically violent with a woman before his termination and arrest. The woman had shared her concerns with Moore, who reportedly dismissed her allegations and offered Lewis a raise.

According to Spiro, Moore did not report the assault and instead sent sexually explicit messages to the woman. Lewis and the woman allegedly communicated via a social media dating platform from July 2024 to December 2024.

In November 2024, Lewis sent threatening texts to the woman after she returned from a trip to Wisconsin. In December, Lewis allegedly physically and sexually assaulted the woman at a hotel in Ann Arbor under the pretense of returning her property.

The Ann Arbor Police Department is investigating the sexual assault allegations made by the woman against Lewis. The University of Michigan is conducting an investigation into the circumstances that led to Moore's firing and is reviewing the Athletic Department's culture.

Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the law firm conducting the investigation. Updates on the investigation will be provided by the University of Michigan once it is completed.
