A popular social media influencer and model criticized a South Beach venue for alleged racism, claiming she was denied entry based on her race.

Achieng Agutu, known for her lifestyle content on TikTok with over one million followers, shared the incident in a video that garnered over 600,000 views.

Agutu and a friend were reportedly denied entry to Mary Lou’s Miami at the W Hotel, despite attempting to join their group inside.

The influencer stated that the doorman allowed non-Black individuals, particularly Hispanic women, into the venue but refused them entry, citing different reasons each time.

Agutu expressed her disappointment, highlighting the racially charged encounter and the doorman's alleged discriminatory behavior.

Rapper JT reposted the video on TikTok, increasing its visibility, while Mary Lou’s has not yet addressed the incident publicly.

Such incidents of racism and colorism against dark-skinned women are unfortunately not uncommon in South Beach, with social media platforms shedding light on these experiences.
