Heroic Mom Saves Son in Tragic Dog Attack in California
Police in California are investigating the death of a 26-year-old Arizona mother, Emily Panuco, who was killed in a dog attack while protecting her 5-year-old son in Big River, California on February 27. She sustained fatal bite wounds in the attack at her mother's home.
Authorities reported that Panuco was visiting California to see new puppies at her mother's residence. When the dogs moved aggressively towards her son, Panuco intervened to protect him, resulting in her tragic death. Her son was also injured and received medical treatment.
The three dogs involved in the attack were euthanized by animal control. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Panuco's family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support her husband, their children, and cover funeral expenses.
Emily was described as a devoted mother who worked at a library, touching the lives of many children and families. Her family remembers her fondly and seeks support from the community during this difficult time. The fundraiser has already raised over $36,000.
Richie, Emily's husband, praised her as a hero and a positive influence in the community. Emily also cared for her 16-year-old sister and had a close relationship with her family and pets, including dogs that were part of the tragic incident.
