After Kanye West was announced as the headliner for the UK's Wireless Festival, Pepsi decided to end its sponsorship of the event, which had been in place for over a decade.

Wireless Festival Announcement and Reaction

Wireless Festival officials announced Kanye West's return to London on March 31, where he would headline all three nights in Finsbury Park on July 10, 11, and 12. While many fans were excited, some expressed criticism on social media.

The announcement came two months after Kanye West issued a formal apology to the Jewish community for previous antisemitic comments and references to Adolf Hitler. Despite explaining his behavior as related to health issues, some were not satisfied with his apology.

Pepsi Withdraws Sponsorship

Pepsi confirmed on April 5 that it was withdrawing its sponsorship from the Wireless Festival following Kanye West's booking as the headliner for all three nights. The decision was made after criticism from UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who called the booking "deeply concerning" due to West's previous controversial remarks.

Pepsi had been the main sponsor of the festival under the branding "Pepsi present Wireless." The company's withdrawal aligns with Starmer's statement condemning antisemitism and emphasizing the need for a safe environment for the Jewish community.
