Baby news! Golfer Scotte Scheffler surprises at Masters with 2nd child's gender reveal
Professional golfer Scottie Scheffler and his wife, Meredith Scudder, recently welcomed their second son, Remy, during the Masters Tournament at Augusta National. Remy, just 9 days old, made his public debut at the event.
The Masters Tournament is set to take place from April 9 to April 12, as reported by Associated Press golf writer Doug Ferguson on April 5. Scottie Scheffler, aged 29, shared that Remy was born on March 27, and they chose the name because they struggled to find good boy names.
Scheffler, following his victory at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio on June 1, became the second golfer to win back-to-back titles after Tiger Woods. Their first son, Bennett, was born shortly after Scheffler won his second Masters tournament in May 2024.
Despite briefly stepping away from the Houston Open tournament for Remy's birth, Scheffler has been practicing and is expected to return to competitive play for another shot at a Masters title. He emphasizes the importance of family, noting that being a father is his priority.
Scottie Scheffler has acknowledged his wife, Meredith Scheffler, for her support throughout his golfing career. The couple's relationship dates back to their high school days in Texas, with Meredith even caddying for Scottie in a tournament in April 2022.
Reflecting on fatherhood, Scheffler expressed his love for his family and the balance between golf and home life. He highlighted the significance of maintaining a healthy family dynamic and stated that if golf ever jeopardized his relationships, he would reconsider his professional career.
