NASA's Historic Mission

NASA's Artemis II mission marks the agency's first crewed journey around the Moon in over 50 years. The crew launched on April 1, 2026, aboard the Orion spacecraft and completed a close flyby of the lunar surface.

Astronaut Profiles

Reid Wiseman: A veteran NASA astronaut and the commander of Artemis II. He has experience aboard the International Space Station and has served as chief of NASA’s Astronaut Office.

Victor Glover: A NASA astronaut and U.S. Navy captain who will serve as the pilot of Artemis II. He previously flew on the SpaceX Crew-1 mission and was the first Black astronaut to live aboard the International Space Station.

Christina Koch: A NASA astronaut and mission specialist on Artemis II. She holds the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman and took part in the first all-female spacewalk.

Jeremy Hansen: A Canadian astronaut and former fighter pilot, serving as a mission specialist on Artemis II. This mission will be his first trip to space.
