Byron Allen is set to take over Stephen Colbert's late-night time slot on CBS as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert nears its end. The comedian and businessman will air his show, Comics Unleashed, at 11:35 p.m. on the Paramount-owned network following Colbert's departure in May.

The cancellation of The Late Show last year surprised many viewers, with speculation about political motivations. CBS clarified that the decision was financially driven, emphasizing that Stephen Colbert is irreplaceable and will bid farewell to the Late Show franchise in May 2026.
