Rapper Pooh Shiesty's father, Lontrell Williams Sr., has been granted a $250,000 bond and placed under house arrest as his new lawyer, John Helms, takes charge of the defense in his federal kidnapping case.

Prosecution Presentation and Judge's Ruling

Prosecutors presented the case against Pooh Shiesty, his dad, and seven others to a federal judge in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 3. The judge ruled that prosecutors have probable cause to pursue the case against the group.

Williams Sr. is accused of printing the music release contract that Pooh Shiesty allegedly forced Gucci Mane to sign at gunpoint on January 10, 2026, at a Staples in Frisco, Texas. Prosecutors argued that Williams Sr. was not a primary participant in the robbery but has a criminal record with kidnapping and other charges.

Defense Arguments and Court Decision

In response, Williams Sr.'s lawyer claimed he is merely his son's business manager, and it is uncertain what he printed at Staples. The judge set Williams Sr.'s bond at $250,000, with a condition of house arrest and limited travel to Dallas, Texas.

A new lawyer, John Helms, has joined Pooh Shiesty's defense team. He suggested that the case may unfold differently from the government's claims, indicating a possible dispute over money between Williams Sr. and his record label.

Details of the Alleged Kidnapping Case

Pooh Shiesty and his father were arrested for allegedly kidnapping and robbing Gucci Mane at a studio in Dallas, Texas, on January 10, 2026. Prosecutors claim the incident involved seven other suspects and two victims, with the motive to release Pooh from a music contract.
