Prosecutors presented their case against Pooh Shiesty, his father, and seven others to a federal judge in Memphis, Tennessee on April 3. During a detention hearing, the judge ruled that prosecutors have probable cause to pursue the case against the group, including Williams Sr.
Williams Sr. is accused of printing the music release contract allegedly forced upon Gucci Mane at gunpoint by Pooh Shiesty on January 10, 2026. Prosecutors claim Williams Sr. made contact with the music studio owner before the robbery.
New Lawyer Joins Pooh Shiesty's Defense
John Helms has joined Pooh Shiesty's legal defense team, adding his thoughts on the case. He believes the situation may differ significantly from what the government states. Bradford Cohen, Pooh's initial defense lawyer, also highlighted inconsistencies in the case.
The FBI raid on Pooh Shiesty's family home led to the arrest of Pooh and his father for allegedly kidnapping and robbing Gucci Mane. Prosecutors allege the crime aimed to release Pooh from a music contract, involving barricaded doors, gunpoint tactics, and theft of luxury items.
During the detention hearing, it was mentioned that no video evidence has been found of suspects carrying guns. Gucci Mane has not publicly commented on the incident. If convicted, the suspects could face life imprisonment.
