The Dallas Stars have banned a fan from their home arena after a video emerged showing individuals making a Nazi salute during a game. The team spokesperson stated that the individual responsible has been identified and banned indefinitely from the American Airlines Center.

In response, the Stars are enhancing in-arena messaging about the Fan Code of Conduct, increasing staff training, and emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards discriminatory behavior. The team emphasized the importance of creating inclusive and respectful environments.

Controversial Video Goes Viral

The video, showing a group of young men making the gesture during a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, went viral on social media. Despite identifying the ticket-buyer, the Stars were unable to identify the other individuals involved in the incident.

According to a Reddit user who initially shared the video, the individuals performed the salute each time the Stars scored, accompanied by the team's goal song. Efforts to address the issue with arena management did not lead to the identification of the individuals.

Arena and NHL Response

An American Airlines Center spokesperson expressed zero tolerance for acts of hate and discrimination. An investigation into the incident has been launched. The arena and NHL's fan code of conduct strictly prohibit gestures or expressions that demean specific groups based on identity.
