Shocking Arrest: Pastor and Wife Taken into Custody for Alleged Abuse of Foster Care Teen
A pastor in South Carolina is facing allegations of sexually abusing a teenager who lived with him in foster care, while his wife, who owns a daycare, is accused of physically harming a child.
Rodney Gibson, the pastor of Pathway 2 Hope Ministries in Columbia, and his wife, Kawiana Young, were arrested on April 1 in connection with the alleged abuse, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
The couple is accused of abuse after a woman reported that Gibson sexually assaulted her repeatedly over several years while she was in foster care with them.
Authorities discovered a minor child living with the couple, and Young, who owns DreamCatcher Child Development Center, is accused of physically abusing the child.
Gibson faces charges including first-degree criminal sexual conduct, while Young is charged with unlawful conduct towards a minor.
The couple was released on bond after their arrests, and authorities are seeking information on other potential victims.
Anyone with information on additional victims is urged to contact the authorities or submit an anonymous tip to CrimeStoppers.
