Maddox Jolie-Pitt Makes a Surprising Decision About His Last Name

Share Post

Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt, the son of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, has filed to legally remove "Pitt" from his last name. This change is reflected in legal documents.

Maddox's Name Change Request

The 24-year-old filed his request on May 28, as seen in documents obtained by Us Weekly. If approved, he will be known as Maddox Chivan Jolie.

This isn't the first time Maddox has distanced from the Pitt surname; he was credited as Maddox Jolie in a project with his mother earlier this year.

Family Dynamics

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who were married from 2014 to 2016, have six children together. Since their separation, several of their children have chosen to drop the Pitt surname.

Maddox's sister Zahara has also opted to use just "Jolie" when joining a sorority. Vivienne recently used "Vivienne Jolie" in a playbill credit.

Continued Legal Battles

The former couple has been involved in ongoing legal battles since their split. Despite these challenges, Pitt expressed his desire to maintain connections with his children during past interviews.

Pitt opened up about his role as a parent in a 2017 interview with GQ, admitting to shortcomings and emphasizing the importance of family over material successes.

A representative for Pitt has not commented on Maddox's recent filing request.
