Ed Harris Shocks Fans: The Unexpected Twist at 'Dutton Ranch'
Ed Harris will reportedly return to “Dutton Ranch” for its second season.
The “Apollo 13” actor has “already has been picked up” for Season 2 of the popular “Yellowstone” spinoff series, sources told Deadline.
The second season is expected to begin production Jan. 15 and, per the outlet, is currently being written with the actor being “kept in the loop.”

The “Top Gun: Maverick” actor, 75, previously divulged he’d had a bad experience filming the show’s first season — and even threatened to step away.
“Midway through this first season, I was ready to go; I said, ‘Get me the f–k out of here,’ to tell you the truth,” Harris told Variety at the Los Angeles “Dink” premiere Monday. “Because I didn’t feel like I was being used.”
The four-time Oscar nominee added that he felt “a little bit misled” about his character, Vietnam veteran and veterinarian Everett McKinney.
“Prior to signing on for it, I was talked to quite a bit about what the season was, and what my character was going to do, and that I was one of the four main characters. And that wasn’t really the case,” he explained.
Harris recalled telling producers he was “feeling underused and inconsequential.”

The “Truman Show” actor also claimed a scene was deleted from one of the initial episodes, which he said “really pissed [him] off.”
“One of the things they told me before I signed on, they said, ‘Hey you get to sing.’ You’re in the bar, right? So there’s a scene in there… I’m talking to Kelly [Reilly] at the bar and Cole [Hauser] comes in and says ‘OK, Everett. C’mon, it’s your turn.’ I walk up to the mic and they cut it. They cut the song out.”
Harris told the outlet the show deemed the scene “too up for the dark ending of that episode,” and — to him — that “was reason enough to say, ‘I’m voiding my contract.'”
“I [was like], ‘F–k you people,'” he added. “That’s all I’ve got to say.'”
Ultimately, Harris admitted he was satisfied with the final product, saying it was “pretty good” when he watched it.
“I felt fine about what I did in it, and it seemed like I was relatively important to the story, but the doing of it did not feel that way,” he added.
“Dutton Ranch” — which also stars Reilly, Hauser, Annette Bening, Jai Courtney and Finn Little, among others — premiered May 15 on Paramount+ and aired its finale July 3.
The streamer renewed the Taylor Sheridan series for a second season on June 24, lauding its status as the biggest original series launch in Paramount+ history.
