Savannah Guthrie's Heartbreaking Plea: What Happened to Her Missing Mom?
Savannah Guthrie begged her mom Nancy Guthrie’s kidnappers to “do the right thing” in a new video message.
“I’m coming to today with a very specific message. It has been months since our mom was taken from us. Our family is in agony,” she said in a heartbreaking video message on Instagram Monday.
“We are in a nightmare that will not end — nothing about our situation has changed,” the “Today” host added.
“We have done our part and we will never stop looking for her. We will always ache for her, feel that hole in our hearts.”
Savannah then sent a clear message to the people who kidnapped her mom from her Arizona home earlier this year.
“The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place and I know that you have tried to do things the right way, so I’m asking you — begging you — to do the right thing now,” she said.
“Make the right choice. Help us find her. Tell us where to look for her,” the journalist, 54, added.
“I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing. Help us bring this situation to an end. For all of us — no matter where we’ve been and what we’ve done — I believe there is always a way home. Please make the right choice.”
Savannah captioned the post, “bring her home 💛.”
Nancy, 84, was first reported missing from her Tucson, Arizona, home on Feb. 1.
Shortly after, the FBI released terrifying home security camera photos of an armed and masked person outside of Nancy’s door the night she disappeared.
Last month, a former FBI agent claimed investigators were closing in on the man seen on Nancy’s door camera.
However, no suspects have been arrested for Nancy’s kidnapping — despite multiple ransom notes being received.
Despite her mom remaining missing, Savannah returned to work at “Today” in April.
She has been on a brief hiatus from the morning talk show to film the game show version of Wordle.
