Racing Against Time: Hawk Fire Forces Mass Evacuations Near Reno

A fast-moving brush fire that kicked up on a hillside in Northern Nevada just outside Reno on Saturday has exploded to at least 2,500 acres, threatening hundreds of homes.
The Hawk Fire had grown to between 2,500 to 3,000 acres and was moving Northeast as of Saturday evening, according to a social media post from Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue in Washoe County, Nevada.
Approximately 1,000 homes were threatened, and evacuations were ordered, according to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.
The Hawk Fire burned over 2,500 acres, threatening roughly 1,000 homes, according to authorities.
