Republican Convention Shocker: Trump’s Bold Moves Steal the Show

Share Post

DALLAS — President Trump’s dream of a Republican midterm convention, a “rally like no other” to bolster GOP candidates ahead of November’s high-stakes elections, is coming to fruition Wednesday in the Lone Star State.

The Post’s politics team is on the ground in Dallas to capture all the action during the two-night event that’s facing stiff competition from the NFL’s opening games — with a keynote from the commander-in-chief both nights.

Early speakers blasted Democrats — including the slate of socialist candidates who swept the primary elections. Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman made a surprise appearance to introduce his fellow Keystone State colleague, Sen. Dave McCormick.

Attorney General Todd Blanche touted the Trump administration’s “law and order” agenda, highlighting the deportation of “2.6 million criminal aliens.”

A whopping 109 big-name pols and red-party superstars will take the stage across the two nights to also showcase achievements so far in Trump’s second term.

Jay Feely, a former NFL kicker and broadcaster, said he decided to leave his “dream job” to run for the House of Representatives in response to the July 2024 assassination attempt against President Trump.

“With blood on his face, President Trump raised a fist, and he told this nation to fight,” he continued. “That courage led Rebecca [his wife] and I to ask each other a question: ‘What are we willing to sacrifice for our country?’

“After 14 years of playing in the NFL and 10 years broadcasting the game I love, I walked away from a dream job to get off the sidelines and into that fight.”

Earlier, Oz had said that the website was lowering the prices of GLP-1 drugs, or what Trump has referred to as the "fat shot."

Blanche touts deportation of ‘2.6 million criminal aliens’ under Trump: ‘Law and order administration’

By Victor Nava

Attorney General Todd Blanche touted the Trump administration’s “law and order” agenda Wednesday at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas — highlighting the deportation of “2.6 million criminal aliens.”

Blanche began his remarks with the heart-wrenching story of Jennifer Bos, who for “51 days” searched for her missing daughter Megan before her body was found “upside down in a bleach-filled garbage can” in the backyard of an illegal immigrant.

“Now, eventually, he was arrested but soft-on-crime laws allowed him to be released back onto our streets one day later,” the attorney general said to gasps from the crowd.

“But I will tell you this: He has since been arrested by ICE and will never walk on America's streets again.”

Blanche said under the leadership of President Trump and Vice President JD Vance, “2.6 million criminal aliens who entered the country illegally and should never have been released into our neighborhoods are being swiftly removed."

Republicans play chilling video detailing Laken Riley's tragic murder by illegal immigrant

By Ryan King

DALLAS — Republicans played a video detailing the tragic murder of Georgian Laken Riley at the convention, featuring her mother and friends.

"I would give anything just to have another phone call with her," Riley's mother said. "But one would never be enough."

The video included a clip of Riley in her own words and a breakdown of the fallout from the violent murder of her by Venezuelan Jose Antonio Ibarra, who had been in the country illegally.

Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) appeared onstage after the video of Riley played and touted his efforts to pass the Laken Riley Act, which was the first bill President Trump signed into law during his second term.

Pa. Sen. Dave McCormick brings blue-collar workers on stage to bash Dems

By Ryan King

DALLAS — Fresh off his surprise introduction from John Fetterman, Pennsylvania Sen. Dave McCormick welcomed blue-collar workers to the GOP midterm convention stage.

"Will we dream heroic dreams and build a better future, or will we surrender to socialism? Defeatism? Anti-Americanism?" he asked.

His guests included a coal mine ship supervisor, shipbuilders, a steelworker, a heavy equipment operator, and a natural gas production foreman.

The introduction drew chants of "USA." McCormick (R-Pa.) also laced into the rise of the far-left.

"This radical movement excuses lawlessness," he said. "It vilifies the police. It disparages our military. It attacks our business. It spews antisemitism, and it celebrates those who despise America."
