Shocking Court Revelations: Caleb Flynn's Double Life Exposed

An Ohio overnight patrol cop on the witness stand recalled arriving at Caleb Flynn's home on the night the "American Idol" alum allegedly executed his wife.

Flynn is accused of gunning down his wife, Ashley Flynn, and then lying to authorities by claiming an intruder had broken into their house and committed the harrowing crime.

Tipp City overnight patrol officer Alexandra Giampapa described finding Flynn "squatting near the dining room table" upon responding to a "burglary in progress call" at around 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 16.

Giampapa said that when she and another officer arrived on the scene, Flynn told her he hadn't checked on the couple's two daughters, now age 10 and 12. The girls appeared to be asleep when Giampapa found them in a bedroom, she told the jury Friday.

The officer said the disgraced pastor called his mother and his wife's mother, Jill, while cops were at the house, but Giampapa didn't elaborate on those conversations.

Flynn was "crying and became a little more worked up" when Jill later showed up at the house, the officer said.

Ohio authorities allegedly found “American Idol” alum Caleb Flynn in a series of lies during their investigation into the February execution of his wife, Ashley Flynn. 

Flynn allegedly told investigators that an intruder had entered the family’s Tipp City home and fatally shot Ashley Flynn while he was lying in one of their two young daughters’ bedrooms just feet away — but the evidence says differently, according to prosecutors. 

“Caleb said he was sleeping. His devices say he was awake and moving,” prosecutor Paul Watkins said during opening statements in Flynn’s murder trial on Friday. 

“People lie — evidence doesn’t,” Watkins told jurors, adding that cops found no evidence of someone else entering the house that night. 

The prosecutor also claimed that Flynn tried to erase roughly 100,000 text messages he’d exchanged with his years-long mistress in the hours leading up to the alleged killing. 

Since cops never recovered the gun allegedly used to kill Ashley Flynn, jurors will have to rely on all other evidence presented to render their verdict, according to Watkins. 

“You will not hear from an eyewitness to Ashley’s murder. The gun used has not been recovered. Recovery of the gun is not an element the state needs to prove in this case.

“You will hear Caleb kept a 9-millimeter handgun in his truck console. The truck was parked in the garage. When officers arrived on the scene, the console was up, and the gun was missing,” the prosecutor said. 

“You will hear that Ashley was shot twice with 9-millimeter bullets,” he said, adding that “fingerprints, DNA, electronic evidence and electronic communications” are also among the state’s evidence to be presented. 

“American Idol” alum Caleb Flynn allegedly texted his longtime mistress a slew of “dark and hateful” messages about wanting to kill his wife — including on the day before she was shot dead while their children slept across the hall, prosecutors told an Ohio jury on Day 1 of Flynn’s murder trial. 

“I choose you. I’m free,” Flynn allegedly wrote in a text to his years-long paramour in the late hours of Feb. 15, according to prosecutor Paul Watkins. 

Prosecutors opened their case with a bang Friday, revealing in opening arguments more than 100,000 text messages the accused murderer sent to the mistress, allegedly saying he wanted his wife, Ashley Flynn, dead.

“ 'Actions will come tomorrow. February 16, a day I’ll never forget,' ” Watkins said, reading a string of harrowing messages aloud during opening statements in Miami County court Thursday. 

Flynn is accused of fatally shooting Ashley in their Tipp City home while their young daughters, now age 10 and 12, were just feet away inside the house, sound asleep.

In another message dated months before the alleged killing, Flynn purportedly texted his mistress: “I was up until 4 a.m. last night crying, literally trying to think of ways to kill her and not go to jail.

“ 'If I could literally kill her and not go to hell I would do it in a heartbeat. That is how dark and hateful I feel,' ” the disgraced pastor allegedly wrote, according to Watkins. 

The prosecutor argued that the messages showed the ex-reality star intended to kill his wife. 

“Those words tell you what this case is about: Motive, intent, and the truth behind the lies Caleb told after his wife and the mother of his two young daughters was shot to death in their home,” he told jurors. 

“She was executed. She was shot in the middle of the night twice in the back of her head, laying in bed in a sleeping position,” Watkins continued. 

Flynn’s trial got underway after the court selected 16 jurors — 12 to serve on the main jury and 4 alternates — to hear the harrowing case Thursday.

Former “American Idol” contestant Caleb Flynn has been thrown in solitary confinement after he allegedly shot his wife dead, according to a report.

Flynn, 39, was placed in a single cell at an Ohio lockup to isolate him for his safety, a veteran corrections officer at the jail told TMZ — adding that fellow inmates have been asking staff about the singer’s whereabouts.

While he’s completely alone, Flynn still has access to a tablet that he can use to make phone calls, watch movies without nudity and read letters, the source said.
