Tragic Photo of Teen Bicyclist Resurfaces After Fatal NYC Accident

The tragic teen killed by a truck while riding a Citi Bike on the Lower East Side was a twin who loved to cycle, according to a family pal —  as an eerie previous photo of the victim on one of the two-wheelers surfaced.

Daria Serkov, 15, was on a Citi Bike with a 13-year-old friend around 9 p.m. Friday when she was fatally struck by the excavation vehicle on 14th Street in Manhattan, police said.

“We want to help support the family, including Daria’s twin sister Greta, in any way we can during this time,” family friend Chris Janssen wrote on gofundme.com.

“The purpose of this fundraiser is to gather money for the funeral as well as any related expenses and support.

“While no amount of money changes the outcome of this awful event, it takes a village of friends, family and neighbors to life them up any way we can,” Janssen wrote.

Serkov and the bike were pinned under the heavy construction vehicle as bystanders came to her aid, and first responders later spent 10 minutes trying to revive the girl, to no avail.

The unidentified truck driver remained at the scene and wept when he realized what happened, eyewitnesses told The Post.

“I saw the truck driver come out, and he was crying uncontrollably,” said Bdin Puangsawaski, a bystander and the owner of Kati Thai restaurant near the scene,  to The Post on Friday night.

“A lot of blood was coming out.”

Daria’s friend, who was with her at the time of the accident, is hospitalized with injuries, police said.

No charges were filed in the incident.

Daria has posted photos of her riding bikes on Instagram, including at least one of her on a Citi Bike.

The GoFundMe for her family raised more than $62,500 as of Sunday morning.
