The New Jersey family killed a tragic murder-suicide was reported missing more than 24 hours before police found their bodies, according to prosecutors.

A mystery caller reported something awry at the $1.7 million home in Montgomery Township — where David Grodnick, 61, his wife Lora Grodnick, 62, and daughter, Sloane Grodnick, 24, were each found with gunshot wounds to the head — to police at 2:59 pm on Oct. 1, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

The caller asked Montgomery Township Police to check on the family.

When nobody answered the door at the home, police launched an investigation into their whereabouts, themontynews.org reported.

Montgomery police didn’t enter the home to do a welfare check until the next day, Oct. 2, at around 5:52 p.m., prosecutors said.
