Melania Trump announced a new task force designed to overhaul the federal government’s approach to women’s health.
“This is a transformative moment for women in America. Beginning today, we will change the reality of women’s health,” the first lady said during a Rose Garden ceremony at the White House.
It will establish “a new standard for women’s health in America,” she added.

President Trump and his wife signed the executive order together, smiling as they passed it between them and exchanged pens.
The order, which the president held up to show off the couple’s signatures, establishes a task force and a National Institutes of Health division focused on women’s health.
Trump praised his wife’s “extraordinary leadership and skills,” saying the first lady will “help improve the health of our nation’s women and girls.”
The task force will be led by White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, who recently announced that she is free from breast cancer, and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Wiles, Kennedy, his wife actress Cheryl Hines, Dr. Mehmet Oz, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, Jennifer Hegseth and several other officials surrounded the first couple as the order was signed.

“These are mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, and under the Trump administration, we’re going to get them the care and support that they need and deserve,” the president said.
The task force will hold its first meeting Monday afternoon in the Roosevelt Room at the White House.
The order will direct research funds toward finding cures to diseases that affect women in a disproportionate way; use AI to enhance medical research; accelerate the process of getting therapies from the lab to women; ensure women can afford medical treatment and expand education around women’s health.
