Noah Wyle claims Eddie Murphy cursed him out when they met over 45 years ago.
“I asked him for his autograph, and I said, ‘I really like you on ‘SNL,'” Wyle, 55, recalled on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast this week.
The “Pitt” star said Murphy, 65, asked him why he was “up that late” watching the NBC sketch show, before the comedian told Wyle to “f–k off” over the autograph request.
Wyle laughed about the incident with Poehler, revealing that he was 9 years old at the time of the exchange.
“So, I always sign an autograph,” Wyle stated on the podcast. “Whenever a nine-year-old needs an autograph from me, I sign that so fast.”
Wyle explained that his family knows about his run-in with Murphy — and they poked fun at the situation last year on his birthday.
“My 10-year-old daughter printed up a picture of Eddie Murphy and then wrote on it, ‘Dear Noah, you’re a great kid, Eddie Murphy,'” Wyle shared while laughing. “She spelled Eddie E-D-D-Y, and I have it framed in my office. It’s the greatest gift.”
The Emmy Award winner said daughter Frances, now 11, even “came up with a story” to go along with the gift.
“She’s like, ‘Dad, you’re never gonna believe who Mom and I saw yesterday: Eddie Murphy. And we got what you’ve always wanted, his autograph,'” Wyle recalled. “Then they gave me the gifts.”
A decade before Wyle got famous in the ’90s from “ER,” Murphy spent four years as a cast member on “SNL” from 1980 to 1984.
Wyle told Poehler, also an “SNL” alum, that he “would love” to finally host the long-running show.
“I recently met Lorne [Michaels], and I kind of put the bee in his bonnet as they say,” he said of the show’s creator.
Wyle vowed that he “would live in the studio all week” if he hosted “SNL,” but Poehler — who was on the show from 2001 to 2008 — advised him to do otherwise.
“Don’t overthink it. Don’t live at the studio,” she told Wyle. “Just go home at night and enjoy. Take a load off. Don’t work too hard.”
Wyle also mentioned that he did a pre-taped sketch when his former “ER” co-star Julianna Margulies hosted the series in 2000.
“I got to go out on stage with her,” Wyle told Poehler, “which was super cool.”
A rep for Murphy didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
