Mary Lynn Rajskub's Bold Pitch to Tom Cruise: A Rom-Com Without Stunts

Mary Lynn Rajskub wants to reunite with Tom Cruise in a new rom-com without an age gap after working together on the movie Magnolia.

"I would love to do another project with Tom Cruise — one where we don't do our own stunts together," Rajskub, 55, joked during an exclusive interview with Us on the set of her Celebrity Weakest Link episode, which airs Monday, November 2.

Rajskub hinted she already had a potential concept in mind.

"I want to be in Tom Cruise's first anti-stunt movie where we just hang out and hold hands and look into each other's eyes," she noted. "We need another rom-com with him. It's been a while."

She continued: "Could you imagine if I was in the first Tom Cruise movie where his lady friend was his age and just a regular looking lady? How fun would that be? It's super sexy because we're buddies and we do the dishes together. That's true romance."

The duo previously shared a scene in Paul Thomas Anderson's 1999 film, but it was ultimately cut. Rajskub has since appeared on shows including 24, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mr. Show With Bob and David and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

As for her Celebrity Weakest Link experience, Rajskub admitted to feeling some nerves.

"I watched a lot of game shows when I was younger. I loved Match Game. I loved Hollywood Squares. I did no research on the Weakest Link at all," she admitted to Us. "I was very nervous coming into it. It actually was really fun."

Rajskub was thrilled to join Nicole Byer, Heather McMahan, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Sasheer Zamata, Zarna Garg, Judy Gold and Ms. Pat for the Ladies Who Laugh episode.

"It's a weird combination when you're standing up there. It's pressure, but it's also kind of goofy, because a lot of the questions are silly," she noted. "But then you'll get thrown real questions. It's very exciting, because anything could happen."

She continued: "I really love this game show, because it involves trivia, but not too much trivia. And I love [host] Jane Lynch and I love all the ladies that I met [on set]. So that was fantastic, because we're on the Ladies Who Laugh episode and I got to meet some really fabulous, hilarious ladies."

Rajskub pointed out that her fellow contestants were some of the women who made her laugh, adding, "I met Heather in the airport coming to this show and she is so awesome and hilarious. So it was fun to get that time with her to get acquainted in a personal way. And so she's really inspiring. I love that. And I love that a show like this can just bring so many funny women together and now maybe we can form some new funny friendships."

The comedian had some suggestions about who else could appear on the Fox show, nominating Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish and Jon Hamm for possible future episodes.

Celebrity Weakest Link airs on Fox Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
