Justin Timberlake is reportedly working on a docuseries that will discuss his infamous Super Bowl 2004 performance with Janet Jackson and his tumultuous relationship with Britney Spears.
Sources told Variety that the *NSYNC frontman is releasing a four-part docuseries on Apple TV in December that has been described as a “tell-all.”
The outlet was told that Jackson will appear in the doc and talk about the “wardrobe malfunction” that took place during her and Timberlake’s Super Bowl halftime performance.
Another source told Variety that the “Cry Me A River” singer will also discuss some of the recent comments his ex Spears made about him.
Page Six has reached out to reps for Apple, Timberlake, Jackson and Spears for comment but did not immediately hear back.
The “Scream” singer, 60, and the “Mirrors” crooner, 45, made headlines during their 2004 Super Bowl halftime performance.
When Timberlake performed his hit “Rock Your Body,” he tore off part of Jackson’s top, exposing her breast to millions of viewers.
The day after the Super Bowl aired, the “Poetic Justice” actress apologized for the incident, saying that the decision to have a “costume reveal” toward the end of their performance was “made after final rehearsals.”
“It was not my intention that it go as far as it did. MTV, CBS [and] the NFL had no knowledge of this whatsoever and, unfortunately, the whole thing went wrong in the end,” she added at the time.
“I apologize to anyone offended, including the audience, MTV, CBS and the NFL.”
After receiving over half a million complaints, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) launched an investigation into the incident.
Furthermore, Jackson was pressured to withdraw from presenting at the 2004 Grammy Awards, and her music videos and singles were blacklisted by MTV and CBS chief Les Moonves.
In 2021, Timberlake posted a public apology to Jackson and Spears, 44, stating he “benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism.”
The following January, the “That’s the Way Love Goes” singer’s two-part Lifetime documentary, “Janet Jackson,” aired, in which she confirmed she and Timberlake forgave each other, moved on and have remained good friends.
“Honestly, this whole thing was blown way out of proportion,” Jackson said of the incident during her documentary, in which the “Bye Bye Bye” singer appeared.
“And, of course, it was an accident that should not have happened, but everyone is looking for someone to blame and that’s gotta stop,” she continued.
“Justin and I are very good friends and we will always be very good friends.”
As for Spears, she and Timberlake dated from 1999 to 2002.
In the “Toxic” singer’s 2023 memoir, “The Woman in Me,” she confirmed long-standing rumors that Timberlake ended their three-year romance via text message.
Spears claimed the “Can’t Stop the Feeling” singer dumped her with a two-word text: “It’s over.”
The “Crossroads” actress also revealed that she got an abortion because Timberlake “definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy” and that he had allegedly cheated on her with a “very popular” woman.
